A Kentucky father sprang into action after waking up to a noise no parent ever wants to hear.
According to PEOPLE, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after midnight on April 28 to a home in Florence, Kentucky,
after a father reported finding a 20-year-old man in his teenage daughter’s bedroom under highly inappropriate circumstances.
Authorities said the father had woken up after hearing strange noises coming from his 13-year-old daughter’s room.
When he opened the door, he discovered a young man—identified as Parker Kramer—partially undressed and lying on the floor.
The father told Kramer he was contacting law enforcement and then went downstairs to retrieve a firearm. Officials say the man then fled through the front door,
prompting the father to fire three warning shots into the ground near the porch.
The incident occurred on the 700 block of Brittany Trail. Law enforcement quickly responded and began searching the area.
Deputies soon located Kramer’s vehicle and keys nearby, and the father confirmed his identity from a photograph.
With assistance from Florence police and drone surveillance, authorities located Kramer hiding in a wooded area near Mt. Zion Road and Interstate 71/75 after an intensive two-hour search.
According to Major Philip Ridgell of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Kramer stated that he had intended to wait until authorities left the area.
Kramer reportedly told police that he had driven from Louisville to meet the girl after communicating with her on a messaging app. The two had initially met in person,
and the girl later informed Kramer that she was 13. He allegedly claimed to be 15 and a student at a local high school.
“This wasn’t a misunderstanding,” Ridgell explained. “It was clear from the communication that the girl was underage.”
After being taken into custody, Kramer reportedly admitted to engaging in inappropriate conduct with the girl, which led authorities to file additional serious charges.
Kramer now faces charges including burglary and multiple counts of unlawful contact with a minor. He is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
Court records show a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 5. As of April 28, no attorney had been listed on his behalf. The investigation remains ongoing.
